LONDON, Ohio — More than 9,000 residents and dozens of businesses are without water in London this morning after what officials are calling “a catastrophic break” of a mainline overnight at the city’s water plant.
Many unlined water mains have internal tuberculation such as that pictured below. Depending on the minerals present in the water, the tubercles can be hard or soft.
Russell staff have been working furiously on the design and manufacture of a new See Snake for the inspection of a 30" water main for Water One in Kansas City.
After successfully navigating 2,900' of Force Main, PICA's 24" SeeSnake Tool is removed from a manhole by MidCity Plumbing.
The District is undertaking the inspection as part of a their asset management plan to assess critical infrastructure.
