Multi-Sensor Acoustic

Sphere Technology

navigator insertion

Multi-sensor sphere technology is used to Identify leak & gas pocket locations with high-sensitivity acoustic & accelerometer sensors. Identifies magnetic features in non metallic pipelines. Profiles pressure gradient information to provide elevation surveys and detect deposits restricting flow. This technology forms the basis of our Pre-screening NDT Service Solutions offering.
These small diameter (3.25 inches) spheres travel freely within pipelines, screening for local leaks, gas pockets, elevation profile, and other important pipe information. Navigator is an easy-to-use and low cost tool that can be used in pipes from 6-120 inches in diameter and made of any material. Navigator’s hydrophone makes contact with the water to provide unparalleled leak detection sensitivity.

Applications & Capabilities

  • Can be used in pipelines containing potable water, wastewater or raw water.
  •  Can be used in all pipe materials and lengths.
  •  Works in pipe diameters from 6 inches to 120 inches.
  • Can be self-deployed with PICA support or can be used in turnkey inspections.
  • Can easily inspect unpiggable pressure pipes.
  • Detects leaks.
  • Identifies gas pockets.
  • Provides pressure gradient information.
  • Navigator is 3.25 inches in diameter, is chemically inert, and has a 24-hour continuous
    run time.
